  25. We have put together the contest with the goal of producing a high-quality
  26. video tape that we can then sell at some point down the road...people who
  27. enter the contest and have their work appear on the final video will
  28. receive free copies of this video when it is complete.

  30. VHS format is good enough for a final video-tape that you are sending out
  31. to others, but it just isn't acceptable in an editing environment...if we
  32. accepted entries on VHS and found some cool stuff that we wanted to put
  33. on the final video, I guarantee you it would look crap after being
  34. digitized to an NLE, edited out to BetaSP, and then duplicated to the
  35. final VHS video.

  37. I know that many people only have access to VHS equipment, but we really
  38. want to make the final animation video look as good as possible.

  40. By the way, for anyone that hasn't heard, the contest deadline has been
  41. extended to the end of April/beginning of May.  Anything RECEIVED after
  42. Friday, May 3rd, will not be elligible to win prizes in the contest.
